Welcome to Mrs. Rumbaugh's 4th grade class! It is truly my pleasure and privilege to be a teacher at Mary Woodward where I get to spend my days with wonderful children.
I am a native Californian, though I've spent more of my life in Oregon than California so I think that makes me an Oregonian. I graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and have lived in the Pacific Northwest ever since. I earned a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Portland State University. My teaching career started in Portland Public Schools where I taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th and TAG. After taking an extended leave to be home with my own children, I returned to the profession right here in Tigard-Tualatin where I live. When I was not working as a teacher I enjoyed being an active parent volunteer in the classrooms and schools of my children. I gradually transitioned back into teaching as a substitute, Title I Reading teacher, and part time support teacher. For the past 5 years, I have had the good fortune of working right here at Mary Woodward in 4th grade.
I am a mother to 3 children who all attended schools in Tigard-Tualatin since kindergarten. I feel very fortunate to live and work in a top-notch school district. In my spare time I love to read (of course), exercise, be outside, grill, watch the Portland Trail Blazers and spend time with my family. I look forward to getting to know each of you this year.
